PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO OFFER. From my own personal collection. This little beauty works perfectly. This boat is from 1910 and has stood the test of time.

The wind-up mechanism works 100%. The boat when in motion will bob up and down like it's going over waves. This boat is 100% complete and missing no parts. Everything is 100% completely original with no replacement parts. You do not see this version a lot. This boat originally came with a little flotilla of small gunships that would follow behind the Columbia. I do believe this boat original came with 3 flotilla ships that was anchored by a wire that would be towed behind the Columbia. I do not have the wire apparatus or the other 1 flotilla boats. The little boat is 100% original. It looks like there may have been a set of wheels in the front and back of the little boat (the one with one smoke stack) to stabilize it. The wheels in the center are completely original. It rolls along perfectly and it does not topple over when just standing by itself.

The little boat also has a small brass gun on it.. The 2nd blue little floatilla boat is 100% complete and origional. The 2nd little boat has its mast and steer wheels. The Columbia boat it's not missing anything whatsoever.

It has a turret on each side of the boat with two brass guns/cannons sticking out of each of the turrets. The turrets are articulated and can be turned.

I cannot say enough good about this boat. It is an actual piece of history that the Hess Toy Company decided to make into a tin toy. I rarely ever see the Columbia version. The other two versions are more prevalent. It has minimal wear consistent with age and beyond beautiful patina.

There is some surface rust but it does not penetrate the body (more so on the side w/ the stationary key). The Columbia is 8 1/4in. With key x 4 1/4in. The little boat is 5 1/2in.

Don't let this beautiful slice of history just sail by. It would be absolutely perfect for any nautical lover, history buff, or tin toy collector.
