RARE Rex Trailer Boomtown Hubley Cap Gun PROTOTYPE in box with Holster

  

This is an incredibly RARE PROTOTYPE Hubley metal cap gun and holster set that was made by Pilgrim Leather Goods of Haverhill, Massachusetts. This was made as a potential product for Rex Trailer, cowboy star of the New England TV show of Boomtown. Apparently, as the story goes, Rex Trailer considered using these as prizes on the TV show but he decided to NOT endorse this product after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, so they were never manufactured. This set comes with the Hubley Cap Gun, a leather holster with the words "Rex Trailer" on it, 12 white plastic bullets, the original "mock-up" box, and a certificate of authenticity from the Rex Trailer estate.

The original box appears to be a generic box for a Pilgrim Toys Ruff Rider Western Outfit set with a Rex Trailer logo glued on at the upper left corner. The Hubley cap gun is in very good condition. The leather holster is in very good condition but the plastic bullet holder is broken at one of the rivets.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a TOY CAP GUN and can not be made to fire actual bullets. This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug. Please check out my feedback...
