Vintage 1960s Deluxe Reading Defender Dan Automatic Machine Gun In Box

ABSOLUTELY NO INTERNATIONAL SALES ON THIS ITEM. Vintage 1960's Deluxe Reading Defender Dan Automatic toy machine gun in original box. PAY ATTENTION TO PHRASES IN RED LETTERS.

THEY ARE ISSUES OR POSSIBLE ISSUES. Rear site damaged as shown. Front site undamaged but plastic mounting slide piece is there and has come loose from front site block on barrel.

Pulling cocking lever back cycles about four bullets before needing pulled back again. Gun will skip a few shells and only hit about every other one but will fire bullet and eject the casings though sporadically. Though working I believe the guns spring may be slightly weak from age.

Will make the firing sound and the orange piece will cycle in and out. The housing that surrounds and holds the orange piece is a little loose where it attaches to the barrel shroud on the barrel but in no danger of falling away. I think this might be normal.

Assembled it makes an awkward damage prone package. You will simply need to replace the original bolts and nuts back in the respective holes to reattach with a simple flat blade screwdriver. Surface corrosion on the metal legs as pictured. Gun will not hold elevated barrel position on it's own. Do not know if this was a normal behavior of something missing.

Gun weight drops tripod pretty low making for a wide leg spread but feet are still even with floor. I think the spring can be compressed with the screw to make this less a factor but I did not try it for fear of damaging something. All three tripod leg plastic ears on top of each that catch the washer are intact. Gun mounting base and elevating crank work.

Gun just sits on the tripod and revolves around with a greasy lubricant in the plate on top of tripod. They are not affixed together.

Belt and Ammo & Issues. BE CAREFUL removing it and do not discard it. Some shell casings parts are missing and there are more of the bullet pieces than casings.

Gun will sling the casings quite a ways. End flaps and sides have separated from each other with age and use. Bent and creased here and there but overall well preserved and graphic.

Comes in JUST under the 130 (121) total inch L+W+G maximum mailable parcel dimension. Depending on your location and address. I do not want it left sitting being such a large attention grabbing package. Consider pictures as a part of the description.
