Here is the seldom found silver painted version of the KENTON CAST IRON LAW MAKER CAP GUN. As WWII emerged the government banned the use of materials like chrome and nickel. Eventually even steel and iron were totally devoted to the war effort. While the majority of Kenton's pre-WWII cap guns were plated, they switched to silver paint in compliance with the war restrictions. These painted versions were probably among the last cast iron cap guns manufactured until after the war. This one is almost as pristine as the day it was produced (There is only the very slightest surface wear on the high points from just being in the box - remember the finish is painted not plated). Also, on the left side below the cylinder, the casting mold did not stamp as deep as other areas. The box itself is in excellent condition with only minor storage blemishes (see photos).
One inside tab pulled loose, but it is with the box. This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug.
