This is a vintage battery powered Combat G. Machine gunner Made in Japan by TOMY in the 1960s. Included is the original rare box.
This toy is made of tin, with cloth for the uniform, and is in great near mint condition. The toy features cap shooting action, a lighted machine gun and recoiling action.
It is missing the machine gun barrel, but I dont recall ever having that part. I have tried 2 D batteries and it does work, but the hammer that hits the cap wheel (please look at the eighth picture) sticks. When I push the on button you can hear a hum. When I lift the hammer with my finger it does continue through a cycle hitting the cap wheel, but sticks in the down position. When it runs the light in the machine gun barrel lights up and the machine gun does recoil.
Should be an easy fix, maybe as easy as some lubricant on the cap hammer. Remember that I havent turned this toy on for about 50 years.
