1880 Lockwood Boom Iron Toy Cap Pistol Gun, Very Rare, Best # B21

  
In this listing we are offering an interesting & very rare cast iron "BOOM" toy cap pistol gun. There is a raised star on one side in the casting & the raised word "BOOM" on the other side in the casting. The grip has a cross-hatched design. This toy cap pistol was made by the Lockwood Company circa 1880 or so. All of the toy cap pistols which were made by Lockwood are either rare, very rare, or extremely rare.

This "BOOM" toy cap pistol is an example of one which is very rare. An example of this toy cap pistol is listed as # B21 & is shown on pages 32/33 in the 1973 edition of the classic reference book "Cast Iron Toy Pistols" by Charles Best.

The pistol has a medium dark patina from age & use combined with medium dark rust & some surface pitting. Still a visually appealing example of this very rare Lockwood cap pistol.

In 56 years of actively being involved with iron toy cap pistols this is the one & only example which we have been fortunate enough to own. This example is complete & all original & is in sound operational condition.

The length is 4 3/8 inches & the weight is 2.8 ounces. This item is inventory #11,452. This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug. This antique TOY cap pistol was NOT made to fire a projectile & it CANNOT be altered to fire bullets, or ammunition, or lethal projectiles of any kind.
