1930s Depression era Wooden rat-ta-tat Revolving Machine Tommy Gun Toy. A beautiful example of Depression era make do- and an enduring example of solid improvised workmanship- and for that matter the way in which toys of yesteryear were cherished and loved- as this example shows many repairs and such as the metal bracing through the split in the revolving cog. Spin the cotton reel improvised knob and the cog turns and creates a ratatatat sound like a Tommy Gun an early machine Gun popular with gangsters! A beautiful vintage toy and would look awesome mounted or hung from a wall as an ornament.
In truth this is where it belongs because it is rather fragile and loose in a few places. To be admired rather than used!
