This was declared "You of the year " in. These are in decent condition. They do need some repairs that's why I listed it as four parts not working.
The one gun the pistol grips need to be re attached. And it's missing the red jewel that goes on the top part of the pistol grips. The trigger does nothing when pulled back. The other gun that has a pistol grips that are adhered doesn't appear to fire and you pull the trigger back. Nothing happens and then the the hammer on the top. If you look at the picture of the back of it it's kind of broken off a little bit the other gun that has the other pistol grips. If someone knows how to repair these or restore them, you'd have two great excellent pieces of history. Great toys from someone's childhood. Good opportunity for a good price. Nichols founded Nichols Industries in 1946.
Initially located in Pasadena, Texas, the company moved to Jacksonville, Texas, in 1954/1955. The company specialized in guns that resembled the Colt Peacemaker.Nichols' "Stallion 45" was declared the "Toy of the Year" in 1950. The decline of the child-based TV cowboy era in the early 1960s led to a major decline in cap gun sales. Growing opposition to the Vietnam War and guns of any kind by young parents also aided the decline. This replica gun contains the colored markings required by law, including a permanently attached orange plug.
