NICE EARLY GUN BOAT / STEAMSHIP. NO MARKINGS, BUT SURELY MADE IN GERMANY. PROBABLY MADE BY CARETTE OR SIMILAR GERMAN MAKER SUCH AS BING OR FLEISCHMANN. Ships are not really my thing.... 323278780104, which appears as a similar type of vessel, though with some missing & modified parts....

Described as a Staudt gun boat;please take a look to see if you think my old gun boat is same model/by same maker? NICE LARGE SIZE AT AROUND 25 cm / 10 inch. STILL RETAINS MUCH OF THE OLD RED/CREAM HAND PAINTED FINISH. ATTRACTIVE DECK, STILL WITH THE TRIPLE SMOKE STACK/FUNNELS....

THE FORWARD ONE, ALSO HOUSING THE ORIGINAL FIXED KEY WINDER. NICE DETAILED FRONT/REAR EDGE DECK RIGGING...... ROTATING GUN AT CENTRE DECK. LOOKS LIKE THE ORIGINAL PROP/RUDDER ASSEMBLY. The key winds and clicks, but doesn't seem to tension the spring?

Though carefully turning the key counter clockwise, will spin the rear propeller. The front left side of the hull has been slightly pushed in... If concerned, you may be able to carefully "pop" the deck, to gain access and push out the hull and view spring mechanism at same time? Displays typical crazed and paint flake/loss, as is commonly found on early tin vessels..... Exposed metal work all appears sound/ nicely rust free, with just bit of natural age tarnishing.

Deck rigging with a tiny spot at rear separated (not affecting). UNLIKE SO MANY, IT HASN'T BEEN RESTORED..... AND STILL MAKES A CHARMING DISPLAY PIECE.
