RARE MID-20TH CENTURY ATOMIC ERA AME RI CAN VINTAGE'COSMIC RAY GUN,' LITHOGRAPHED ENAMEL TIN FRICTION TOY SPACE GUN, with YELLOW POLYMER GUN NOZZLE & UNPAINTED TIN FLATSTOCK, RETICULATED TRIGGER. [The toy gun still emits firing, crackling sound but appears to no longer produce sparks, associated with the friction mechanism engaged when the trigger is pulled]. Post WWII, Atomic era, mid-20th century Ame ri can vintage lithographed enamel tin friction space toys & toy laser guns. 8 3/4" Length x 5" Height x 1 1/4 Depth. For sale is this very scarce and nearly completely intact and as nearly unblemished, post-WWII, Atomic-era, Ame ri can vintage'Cosmic Ray Gun,' color lithographed enamel space toy laser gun, which is still in working condition and which hasn't been deformed by the dents, dings, scuffs, abrasions and often the oxidation found on these now 70 year-old tin Space Age toys, which reflect them being played with and used out-of-doors and unfortunately often left outside overnight, where moisture works its way into them and tarnishes the lithographed enamel tin surfaces and ultimately disrupting the graphic iconography of the transfer. Its surfaces remain nearly blemish free and suffer from little, if any oxidation. This Ame ri can -made, circa 1949 to 1953, post-WWII tin toy gun, had a patent pending registered for its design. The gun turret or firing nozzle's made of golden yellow polymer. There's also a carved yellow enamel painted wooden knob on the gun's top. The gun makes noise but appears to no longer emit sparks at the same time, when the trigger is pulled and the toy gun fired. In very well-preserved overall vintage condition.
